The design and craftsmanship of Hästens beds have become so acclaimed, it’s not uncommon to find the beds featured in the media, including notable publications. For example, the long-running American lifestyle magazine Town & Country recently discussed the Swedish bed maker.
If you’ve been among the millions of people watching Netflix, you may have also spotted Hästens recently.
Earlier this month, the streaming service premiered the American comedy-drama series Emily in Paris which tells the story of the titular character and her experiences in the “City of Light” as she balances work while looking for love and adjusts to the culture. As part of a marketing firm, Hästens is among the clients Emily works for.
Spoiler alert: For those that haven’t seen Emily in Paris, Hästens made appearances during episode five of the series as Emily prepares for a Hästens photo shoot.

While pandemic restrictions have been lifted in many places, the best way to stay safe is to remain at home when possible. The monthly American lifestyle Town & Country magazine recently touched on this subject, also discussing the importance of having a good mattress to help with sleep issues. A good night’s sleep is fundamental in keeping the immune system strong and your mental health strong.
As people are encouraged to continue quarantining to stay safe, a New York Times article published last month tells an interesting story about how it’s also lead to a considerable rise in the demand for “fancy” beds, including those by Swedish bed maker Hästens.
There is resting and then there is sleeping. The latter is what would be called rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, the deepest state of sleep where the mind resets and processes memories while the body rests and re-energizes. According to some new research, failing to get enough REM sleep may go as far as an increased risk of death due to several different diseases.
RLS or restless leg syndrome is a condition characterized by an irresistible urge to move the legs, especially during the evening. Symptoms include the intense feeling of pins and needles on the leg, leg aches, or recurring itch, tingling sensation, and the urge to move one’s legs around. This condition is usually seen in more women than men. It typically occurs while laying down or sitting and can disrupt one’s sleep, leaving you feeling exhausted the following day. When one’s sleep is compromised, your overall health is prone to suffering as well.
